Is a full resume needed?
Yes, you probably need a full resume. A resume is a lot like a driver's licence. It enables you to function effectively in the job market, but it should not be used as a substitute for building relationships with potential employers. A driver's license is needed to drive legally on the highway, but it doesn't drive the car for you. In the job market, a resume is needed to give potential employers some essential facts about you to help them effectively compare your abilities with the abilities of other applicants, and to help them remember what you have to offer.

Most resumes that come across our desk are too long, too wordy, to self serving, confusing to read, contain too much subjective information, are poorly organized, give the wrong information, or contain misspellings, typos, and poor syntax. If you have a resume already, we can revise it and make it effective. Just order the resume service, send your full resume to us and we will get to work. We can also create a resume for you from scratch. Just tell us and we will have you fill out a questionnaire to give us the information we need.
In most cases, we will build your resume using the "skills categories" method rather than the "employment history" method. This gives employers faster and easier access to your skills, and avoids anything in your employment history that might make you seem over, under, or inappropriately qualified. The skills categories method allows us to target your resume right to the job you want next.
Once we have the basic facts about you, we will send you a first draft of your new resume. This first draft may contain requests for clarification or more information. When you have received the draft, we will ask you to contact us by phone for a conference on how to properly use your new resume and to give us any additional information we need. You may also provide additional information by email, or even enter it yourself and return the draft to us. We will continue this process of drafts, conferences and changes until your resume is complete and you are satisfied with the result.
How long does the process take?
We will start the process as soon as we receive your order. We work Monday through Friday and can usually create a full resume for you in 2-5 days. The faster you review our drafts and respond to our requests for additional information, the faster we can complete your resume for you.
